Parus Albert Schaeffer, Old White Man 1, 2022

The curse of the old white man hoarding art magazines. And only looks at them when the exhibitions they discuss are over. Paul Gauguin at the Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin, Ai Weiwei at the Albertina Moderna in Vienna, Giorgio Griffa at the Centre Pompidou in Paris - all gone. What remains? Writing a book called "Unseen Exhibitions"? Or create a folder "Missed" in the electronic memory, called computer?

Der Fluch des alten weißen Mannes, der Kunstzeitschriften hortet. Und sie erst anschaut, wenn die besprochenen Ausstellungen vorüber sind. Paul Gauguin in der Alten Nationalgalerie in Berlin, Ai Weiwei in der Albertina Moderna in Wien, Giorgio Griffa im Centre Pompidou in Paris - all gone. Was bleibt? Einen Buch „Ungesehene Ausstellungen“ schreiben? Oder einen Ordner „Verpasst“ im elektronischen Gedächtnis anlegen, Computer genannt?

  Parus Albert Schaeffer, Inpher 1, 2023 In my most recent work, there is a turn towards minimalism. It is a longing for simplicity in a complex world.  Minimalism, which emerged in the mid-20th century, has lost none of its relevance for me. People often think of art as a representation of some aspect of the real world - a landscape, a person, an object - or as a reflection of an experience or a feeling. My paintings do not represent an external reality; rather, the viewer can respond to what they see in front of them. "What you see is what you see" (Frank Stella) In meinem jüngsten Werk ist eine Hinwendung zum Minimalismus zu erkennen. Parus Albert Schaeffer, Vandell 2, 2023. Off to Kaufbeuren - for the wonderful exhibition "Nippon Mania" at the Art Museum of the city. On display is current art from Japan. The blending of traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern sensibilities has resulted in a vibrant and diverse art scene that continues to evolve and inspire. My work "Vandell 2" takes up some impulses from the exhibition. Auf nach Kaufbeuren - zur wunderbaren Ausstellung "Nippon Mania" im Kunsthaus der Stadt. Ausgestellt wird zeitgenössische Kunst aus Japan. Die Verbindung von traditioneller japanischer Ästhetik mit modernem Empfinden hat zu einer lebendigen und vielfältigen Kunstszene geführt, die sich weiterentwickelt und inspiriert. Mein Bild "V andell 2" nimmt einige Impulse der Ausstellung auf.
