In my most recent work, there is a turn towards minimalism. It is a longing for simplicity in a complex world.  Minimalism, which emerged in the mid-20th century, has lost none of its relevance for me. People often think of art as a representation of some aspect of the real world - a landscape, a person, an object - or as a reflection of an experience or a feeling. My paintings do not represent an external reality; rather, the viewer can respond to what they see in front of them. "What you see is what you see" (Frank Stella)

In meinem jüngsten Werk ist eine Hinwendung zum Minimalismus zu erkennen. Es ist eine Sehnsucht nach Einfachheit in einer komplexen Welt.  Der Minimalismus, der in der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts entstand, hat für mich nichts an Aktualität eingebüßt. Häufig denkt man bei Kunst an eine Darstellung eines Aspekts der realen Welt - eine Landschaft, eine Person, eines Objekts - oder an die Widerspiegelung einer Erfahrung oder eines Gefühls. Meine Bilder stellen nicht eine äußere Realität dar, sondern der Betrachter kann auf das reagieren,  was er vor sich sieht. "Was man sieht, ist das, was man sieht" (Frank Stella)
