  Parus Albert Schaeffer, Inpher 1, 2023 In my most recent work, there is a turn towards minimalism. It is a longing for simplicity in a complex world.  Minimalism, which emerged in the mid-20th century, has lost none of its relevance for me. People often think of art as a representation of some aspect of the real world - a landscape, a person, an object - or as a reflection of an experience or a feeling. My paintings do not represent an external reality; rather, the viewer can respond to what they see in front of them. "What you see is what you see" (Frank Stella) In meinem jüngsten Werk ist eine Hinwendung zum Minimalismus zu erkennen. Es ist eine Sehnsucht nach Einfachheit in einer komplexen Welt.  Der Minimalismus, der in der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts entstand, hat für mich nichts an Aktualität eingebüßt. Häufig denkt man bei Kunst an eine Darstellung eines Aspekts der realen Welt - eine Landschaft, eine Person, eines Objekts - oder an die Widerspiegelung einer Erfah...

Parus Albert Schaeffer, Vandell 2, 2023. Off to Kaufbeuren - for the wonderful exhibition "Nippon Mania" at the Art Museum of the city. On display is current art from Japan. The blending of traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern sensibilities has resulted in a vibrant and diverse art scene that continues to evolve and inspire. My work "Vandell 2" takes up some impulses from the exhibition. Auf nach Kaufbeuren - zur wunderbaren Ausstellung "Nippon Mania" im Kunsthaus der Stadt. Ausgestellt wird zeitgenössische Kunst aus Japan. Die Verbindung von traditioneller japanischer Ästhetik mit modernem Empfinden hat zu einer lebendigen und vielfältigen Kunstszene geführt, die sich weiterentwickelt und inspiriert. Mein Bild "V andell 2" nimmt einige Impulse der Ausstellung auf.

Ein Glanzpunkt im Münchner Norden: Porträts und Körperbilder aus der Sammlung Klewan im Kallmann-Museum. Die Moderne at its best - Alberto Giacometti, Francis Bacon, Maria Lassnig und viele mehr. Ein Einblick in das Lebenswerk des großen Galeristen und Sammlers Helmut Klewan.  

Parus Albert Schaeffer, Kamelin 11, 2023 A stimulating exhibition at the Munich Museum of the Five Continents: "All sewn up. Woven and embroidered textiles from the Ottoman Empire."  A treasure of artistry and craftsmanship is on display in a splendid presentation - such as a belt cloth with flowers on vines from the 1st half of the 19th century. My work "Kamelin 11" is a bow to these gems of Ottoman art. Eine anregende Ausstellung im Münchner Museum der Fünf Kontinente: "In trockenen Tüchern. Gewebtes und Besticktes aus dem Osmanischen Reich."  In einer herrlichen Präsentation ist ein Schatz aus Kunstsinn und Handwerk zu sehen - etwa ein Gürteltuch mit Blüten an Ranken aus der 1. Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Mein Werk „Kamelin 11“ ist eine Verbeugung vor diesen Glanzstücken osmanischer Kunst.  

Parus Albert Schaeffer, Dream of a Shadow 1, 2023 Man is the dream of a shadow - a wonderful sentence in the wonderful exhibition "New Light from Pompeii" in the Munich Collection of Antiquities. No other ancient city produced as many lighting devices as the tragically buried Pompeii. In numerous bronze originals - oil lamps, candelabras, lamp stands - the aesthetics of Roman artificial light can be studied. Der Mensch ist der Traum eines Schattens - ein wunderbarer Satz in der wunderbaren Ausstellung „Neues Licht aus Pompeji“ in der Münchner Antikensammlung. Keine andere Stadt der Antike hat so viele Beleuchtungsgeräte hervorgebracht wie das tragisch verschüttete Pompeji. In zahlreichen Bronzeoriginalen - Öllampen, Kandelaber, Lampenständer - kann die Ästhetik des römischen Kunstlichts studiert werden.  

Parus Albert Schaeffer, Dante Revisited, 2023.  A bold undertaking: In the new year, I have begun illustrations of Dante's Divine Comedy. It is a journey into the heart of art - and into a world that is very far away and very close. With the bilingual Reclam edition after the translation by Hartmut Köhler as a travel companion. Ein kühnes Unterfangen: Im neuen Jahr habe ich mit Illustrationen zu Dantes Göttlicher Komödie angefangen.  Es ist eine Reise in das Herz der Kunst - und in eine Welt, die sehr weit entfernt und sehr nah ist. Mit der zweisprachigen Reclam-Ausgabe nach der Übersetzung von Hartmut Köhler als Reisebegleiter.
